The year is 2076.

The Mega Corporations have taken over the world, with their seemingly inexhaustible resources and ambition, they have bought out the world governments, and now rule over the civilian populace with an iron fist and they turn their thoughts to controlling the populace through consumer products and expanding the wireless world. Everything you can buy, from children toys to military grade robotics, will be branded to one of the Mega Corporations. Now their interests have turned to technological superiority, fight with one another, stealing technology and controlling the Stock Market through the Shadow War. The Special Forces of these Wars are the Corporation Agents, elite men and women enhanced with the best and most expensive technological advances for the sole purpose of murder and theft.

Life for the civilian population is not so bleak as what it may first appear. The governments exist, if only to answer to the needs of the people. The consumer market has advanced in the years, from fast moving products being delivered fresher and safer to technology that revolutionizes the way of life with Hover Cars becoming normal and for those in money, purchasing a flying car is not out of the question. The most important advance to the public is the complete wireless network called the wave. Everything is connected to the wave and the public is connected to the wave through devices called Comm-Units. They receive phone calls, text messages, emails, advertisements from passing local stores, see the personal profiles of those around them and most of all, allows them to purchase goods using their Personal Identification Number (PiN). Everyone is issued a PiN on birth and it is your key to living your life. You cannot do anything without your PiN, from buying groceries, to applying for a job, to purchasing Licenses for Civilian Classed Weaponry. There are those few who have no PiN and they generally live within the slum areas of Cities, or become hired mercenaries for the Shadow Wars.

The year is marked with the release of three new products that are being shipped to the market.

Digital Sense is a product that allows you to see the Wave through a 'Heads Up Display' projected onto the surface of specially made glasses (Come in Regular, Tinted or Mirrored). This allows you to see the condition of anything linked to your PiN or made public to you in real time. From knowing exactly how much money you have in your account, to seeing electronic advertisements in shop windows. The product uses a military technology called Smart-Link to perform these actions and it's now been made into a civilian grade product. It's the new craze sweeping the youth of the time.

Digital Touch is a twin product being released at the same time as Digital Sense. It is far more expensive than Digital Sense but the product allows those to perform live actions to the digital world. You can buy products with just a flick of the wrist, take calls, and type personal messages while wearing these special gloves.

'Better than Real Life' is new software for those who want to escape to the digital world. When connected with Digital Sense and Digital Touch, a consumer can literally put themselves into specially designed worlds on the net, interact with others as if they were there themselves. The hardware literally transports the consumers' consciousness there through a process called Soft Immersion Networking so the consumer is safe from feedback and are instantly pulled back to their body.

The World is full of the wonder of technology, the joy of finding the next new discovery and the potential of products already out on the market. How will you make your mark?

2012-02-09 [The Blood Angel]: Cyborgs are human really. You have to have a good reason for it though because the tech is expensive an generally only for the wealthy or the special forces. You could get away with one cyberware limb as a PiNless merc or if your looking for more you'll have to be Corporate.

2012-02-09 [The Blood Angel]: It's taking ideas from Shadowrun but not the rules, basically a little clone of shadowrun. Good way to think of it is Shadowrun Light.

2012-02-09 [The Blood Angel]: I also want to say that you can be creative with the different Cyber-ware products your character could get your hands on. It's not just limbs or eyes etc that you could have. Be creative if you are making a character.

2012-02-09 [Flisky]: I have a character concept I wanted to use, but wasn't sure if it was allowed. Ka'aias. Of course I would change a lot but that is the general idea I created for a different game.

Also, I'd like to point out that in the intro, "You cannot do anything with your PiN..." Something seems wrong to me there. :P
